Q: How far in advance do I need to get shots for my trip?
A: 4-6 weeks is optimal. However, you still need to call Global Health Services if your trip just came up so we can expedite your immunizations.
Q: Can I get the flu from a flu shot?
A: No. The Influenza vaccine is not a live vaccine.
Q: Do I need immunizations for travel to Mexico?
A: Yes. Immunizations are recommended for travel to Mexico.
Q: Do I need immunizations to go on an International Cruise?
A: Yes. International cruises stop at many ports of call where you can be exposed to health risks.
Q: Do I need to take Malaria Medication each time I travel to a risk area?
A: Yes. Malaria Medication is only effective as long as you are taking it. If you are a client of Global Health Services, we can call in a prescription for each trip you take to a malarial area.
Q: If I was born in another country do I need shots to go back and visit?
A: Yes. You lose any natural immunity you might once have had. If you go back home to visit, you will be at risk for travel disease just like a tourist.
Q: How often do I need to update my shots?
A: Global Health Services provides each traveler with an information card listing the duration of your shots. If you travel for business, we will also send you an email reminder.
