• What Vaccination Do You Need

  • College Vaccinations

Check with your school to make sure you have all the necessary immunizations. The risk of coming down with a serious disease is far less when you are immunized.
Medical, dental and veterinary schools may require additional immunizations. Check with your school before you start your program to be sure that you have all the current recommendations.

    Meningococcal Meningitis

One of the most series risks to students is Meningococcal (MEN-IN-JO-KOK-AL) disease, an acute bacterial infection that can cause meningitis – a severe inflammation of the brain and spinal cord. Infectious Meningitis is a medical emergency that must be diagnosed and treated immediately for the best possible outcome.

Meningococcal disease is very difficult to diagnose and treat, because it often begins with symptoms that can be mistaken for the flu or another respiratory infection. Meningococcal disease can get worse very rapidly, and can kill a healthy young adult in 48 hours or less.

Check with your school to find out if they require a meningitis vaccination.
