About Global Health Services

If you are traveling for business, pleasure or a Mission trip, you will want to check and be sure you have everything you need, including being properly immunized. Global Health Services has all the current information from the Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization. This information specific to your trip is yours to keep. After the nurse has explained all the vaccine recommendations, food and water precautions, etc., she will provide you with Vaccine Information Sheets so you can reference them as needed.
By reviewing your health history and itinerary, our nurses will work with you personally to determine which vaccines are necessary to help keep you healthy on your trip. We want to educate you as well as administer the appropriate vaccines so that your trip will be an enjoyable one. Any vaccines you choose to have can be administered at the time of your visit.
As a general rule, you will want to visit our clinic up to 8 to 10 weeks or more before your trip. This is because some vaccines take time to become effective once inside your body and some require a vaccine series that can take days and up to two months to administer an entire series. If you plan to leave in 8 weeks or less, scheduling an appointment is recommended , as some vaccinations can be started on an accelerated schedule.
Additionally, we will provide you with information you could need to remain protected from illness and injury while traveling. Even if you are leaving that very week, GHS can provide you with perscription medication and and some vaccine protection.
